A Letter from Pat & Annie
We are Pat and Annie, a creative, adventurous, nurturing Christian couple from Washington! Our faith in Jesus is at the center of our lives and marriage; we are so excited to share our love of Jesus with our child. We love to spend time together outdoors, travel, and we both appreciate delicious food. We would love to have an open adoption with you and stay in contact via photos, letters, and even visits, remaining sensitive to what makes you most comfortable!
We’ve been happily married for 7 years and love being active outdoors together – running, biking, hiking, gardening, or simply enjoying the beautiful Washington weather! We also love to explore new places and have been to France, La Reunion, Andorra, and Canada. We also love visiting Annie’s family in Oregon and California! We are so excited to share our love of travel, adventure, and learning about new cultures with your child!
As teachers, we both have a passion for education and learning. Music is also very important to us both. Pat plays harmonica and goes to jams with other blues musicians while Annie plays the piano. There is often music playing in our home or classrooms throughout the day.
Our family plan has always included adoption and was further fastened to our hearts through our journey of infertility. We are so ready and excited to grow our family through adoption and look forward to sharing our passion for music and the world with your child.
Pat is a generous, thoughtful, and adventurous man with a heart for others–all things that contribute to him being a fantastic kindergarten teacher! Pat is French and was raised on the beautiful island of La Reunion where he was exposed to a diverse cultural environment with people from Africa, India, France, China, Madagascar, and more. I love Pat’s sense of humor, his ability to laugh at himself, his passion for learning new things, and how deeply he loves. Pat enjoys long bike rides, hikes, gardening, and basically any activity that gets him outdoors! He’s a talented landscape photographer, adores music, and is a gifted harmonica player! Pat will be an exceptional father and looks forward to sharing the outdoors with our child and sharing with them his passion for music.
Annie is joyful, kind, and compassionate to others. She has a bright smile, lives her life in a way that honors God, and encourages me every day to be better. Annie loves baking sweet treats, exercising (especially hiking, long walks, and working out in our living room), and enjoys learning about health and wellness. She loves decorating our home for the seasons, is happiest when with family and friends, and truly has a passion for being a 2nd-grade teacher. Annie loves music and enjoys playing piano at her parents’ house! She is so eager to share her love of music and making the holidays special with our child. Annie looks forward to family walks, hikes, and travel trips! I know that Annie will be the most loving, fun, and sweet mother to our child.
We are fortunate to live in beautiful Washington in our charming and cozy 3-bedroom house that Annie affectionately calls our cottage. It is located in a quiet cul-de-sac not far from the thriving, bustling city. We have enjoyed making it perfect for us through home improvements and remodeling. We love spending quiet evenings at home with a fire crackling in our wood-burning stove. Annie loves decorating for the seasons and adding fairy lights wherever she can! Pat has made improvements not only on the home but in the garden as well! It’s spacious, full of beautiful native plants and vegetables, with a large apple tree that’s perfect for climbing. We are excited to raise our family here!
Our families are loving, helpful, fun, and are all thrilled to welcome your child with open arms and open hearts!
Pat’s family is spread across the globe! His grandma lives in Paris, and his parents live in the south of France. Both of Pat’s sisters live on the island of La Reunion with their families. We greatly enjoy seeing them during our summer breaks! His extended family in La Reunion is large and diverse, including roots from Africa, India, Hong Kong, China, Ecuador, and Jamaica.
We live in the same region as Annie’s family and get together often! Annie has two cousins who were adopted on both her mother’s and father’s sides and they have been blessings in our lives.
Our family is also very nostalgic. We love continuing long-standing traditions, like watching The Goonies when we’re vacationing on the Oregon Coast or singing along to Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol. We also love making new traditions with our nieces and nephews!
We promise to raise your child to know how profoundly they are loved by us, by you, and by Jesus. We will honor and respect your position in this family, and hold space for you to participate in the way you feel most comfortable. We will embrace your child’s heritage and unique background, as well as teach them the beauty of different cultures! As educators, we promise to share our family values by encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, lifelong learning, and education. We will also share our love of adventure and travel with them and promise to fiercely love your child unconditionally!

|More About Our Family|
Education is extremely important to us and we are both avowed lifelong learners! This is a value we hope to share with our future children. Currently, Annie is passionate about learning more to improve her wellness and become the healthiest she can be! She's also learning passionate to continue growing and deepening her faith by reading the Bible and praying and listening to podcasts. Pat is always learning something new! His most recent passion is building remote control cars. He keeps learning about photography techniques, post-processing, and printing his own images. He also loves to learn about gardening and how to do DIY projects in our home!
Our belief in Jesus Christ is the anchor to our souls. His steadfast love, His grace, and His faithfulness to us throughout our lives are our foundation. We believe God is leading us to adoption and trust His sovereignty in our lives. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a hope and a future.” We hold tightly to this promise and believe it just as firmly for you as we do for ourselves!
We are a music-loving family! Annie's dad is a music pastor and her mom is a gifted singer, so music has always played a significant role in her life. She loves to play piano (and maybe recorder if she's feeling playful)! Annie also loves to sing, to the point where she sometimes sings without realizing it. La Reunion, where Pat grew up, is rich in unique musical diversity. Pat loves to share music with his students! He recently bought a djembe for his classroom to teach his kindergarteners percussion skills. He's been playing the blues harmonica for over 20 years. We often have music playing somewhere in our home and enjoy a wide variety of genres. We are so excited to share our love of music with our child in the future!
|What we love about where we live:|
-We live in a smaller town with access to the culture and activities of a metropolitan area. We also love walking the trail to our quaint downtown streets!
-Our neighbors are amazing. We live near other young families with kids, who are often riding bikes or drawing with chalk in the cul-de-sac in front of our house! There is a feeling of community and looking out for one another that makes us feel so safe.
-We are close to many walking/running/biking trails and hiking areas! We are also near a mountain pass where we enjoy snowshoeing in the winter. There are so many outdoor activities available to us throughout the year!
-It's absolutely beautiful! From our living room, we have a view of the most majestic mountain and we are excited to grow our family here!
